I try it eat it simple. the same way I found it on an Italian restaurant. A huge plate of Angel pasta with just Olive Oil & salt!.. Yummmm that is so Good!
@kittykat9180 Yeah, I did that on a dare. You know how you would throw up popcorn and try to catch it in your mouth? We were trying to do the same with meatballs that night.
I still can’t understand why they asked us to leave.
@jkawaguchi@Lynnerizer I’m never sure what “clean” means when it comes to food. It seems to me to be a term from the “wellness” community to indicate an elevated kind of diet.

Those terms are made up by advertising agencies to sell more products. It’s a trick to make you think it’s better than the ordinary products . Not sure but this QR code should lead to some answers

@jkawaguchi@Lynnerizer I’ve seen “clean” in particular used by wellness influencers and their followers, e.g., “eating clean.” Better than, indeed. I was trying to be kind when I wrote elevated, but honestly, I was thinking superior in a snobby, look down on others sort of way.
I got the term “clean” pertaining to food from my BIL 35 years ago! My sister’s husband had a kidney transplant about ten years prior and he cooked some fantastic soups. He always made sure to cook the chicken/protein separately to keep the grease (good flavor ) out of the pot! I realize that my saying “good flavor” and “keeping it out of the pot” may sound a little contradictory but while I loved the taste of the food when using all the good grease, I also liked the idea of being healthy! But that’s where I got the phrase from, the BIL 35 years ago, well before social media and influencers!
I’m not sure why you think it’s people feeling better than others, superior in a snobby, look down on others sort of way is I believe what you said. Maybe I misunderstood…
I’m not about different fad diets, I think eating healthy just needs to be a lifestyle! Cutting out or at least cutting back on the unhealthy stuff, and eating it in moderation works for ME, eating clean does seem to fit the bill!
BTW, I’m still in the TRYING to do better phase, results are TBD!
Talking about sodium…
I just tried a bite of mashed potatoes that my sister in law sent over from yesterday’s Easter dinner and they had so much salt they were inedible!
It amazes me how much salt some people cook with and then put on their food! I’m not sure amazes is the correct word though, it really just grosses me out!
My favorite is spaghetti aglio e olio, i.e., with garlic and olive oil. Instead of adding the usual red pepper flakes, I add chopped Pastene golden Greek peperoncini. It’s simple to make and very tasty. A jar of Pastene peperoncini lasts forever in the fridge.
Definitely.

@mycya4me
Even better if you make the pasta from scratch. Fresh pasta is a game changer!
with marinara sauce and meat. Spicy is a bonus.
Pasta with butter, bits of sausage, garlic, onion, and herbs for me. Yum.
Should’ve picked “all of the above.” Mistake was made.
Just made chicken and mushroom alfredo over rotini for dinner tonight. Took it into work with me at the ER and shared it with one of my “work wives”.
There is no such thing as too garlicky!
@ratman
That’s a good start!
… shaken, not stirred.
@cfg83
Cfg83 shaking his pasta.

@cfg83
It’s a mystery
@cfg83 @kittykat9180 You look good in everything you eat.
I like it light and clean meaning gluten free!

The toppings can vary, I like it all different ways but it definitely is better gluten free!
@Lynnerizer You mean rice noodles?
@jkawaguchi
I don’t know, is that what I meant?

It sure looks and tastes just like regular pasta to me, well, except it’s much better!
Bottom line… Call it whatever you want, I’m all about it!

A little less sodium would be nice

I’m definitely team NO salt!

I don’t just like pasta, I would marinara it.
It’s like a good stew, except more chewy.
By the pound? Or is Pasta Drop too old to talk about anymore?
